Day 14. Mexico – Finca La Puebla RFA

Finca la Puebla is located in the northeastern part of Puebla State, within the municipality of Xicotepec de Juárez, at 600 metres above sea level on the Santa Rita plateau. Positioned at 20°22′50″ north latitude — the northernmost limit for coffee cultivation — the farm benefits from unique climatic conditions that set its coffees apart.

Puebla is Mexico’s fourth-largest coffee-producing state, after Chiapas, Veracruz, and Oaxaca. Finca la Puebla lies just 90 km west of the Gulf of Mexico and 225 km northeast of Mexico City, a location that combines proximity to major trade routes with the advantages of a distinctive terroir.

The farm’s origins date back to the early 1980s, when the first plots of pastureland were acquired and gradually planted with Arabica coffee. By 1990, Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) had become a shareholder, taking full ownership in 1995. Finca la Puebla became NKG’s first farming operation, later joined by Fazenda da Lagoa in Brazil, Kaweri Coffee Plantation in Uganda, and farm management projects across East Africa.

Today, Finca la Puebla spans 1,790 hectares, of which 1,363 hectares are dedicated to coffee cultivation. From its beginnings as a pioneering project, it has grown into one of Mexico’s most significant and influential coffee farms, combining scale, history, and an exceptional growing environment.

Every cup tells a story. Our coffees are sourced from passionate farmers around the world, roasted with care in Buckinghamshire, and delivered fresh to your home. Treat yourself to something special, or share the gift of great coffee
