Day 2. Peru - Gonzilla Estate G1 Organic

This Peru SHB G1 Gonzilla Estate Organic Fairtrade coffee is grown high in the Andes between 1,100 and 1,800 metres above sea level. Using the Typica varietal and wet processing, it produces a cup with a light, creamy body, gentle acidity and a smooth, clean finish. Expect fruity overtones, sweet citrus notes and soft spicy aromas, a well balanced Grade 1 Fairtrade coffee.

Peru, stretched along the western edge of South America, is known for its remarkable biodiversity and dramatic landscapes. Coffee thrives particularly well in the Andean regions, where farms are often small, family-run and deeply connected to the land. Estates like Gonzilla benefit from rich mountain soils, cool temperatures and shifting microclimates that allow coffee cherries to mature slowly. This slower development encourages greater complexity within the bean, resulting in a smooth, layered cup with refined acidity.

Peru has also become an important origin for organic and Fairtrade production. Many growers work within cooperatives or small community networks, focusing on environmentally responsible farming and fair working conditions. This commitment to sustainable agriculture not only protects the land but also contributes to the clean, pure character that Peruvian coffees are known for.

From the high slopes of the Andes to your cup, this coffee captures the gentle elegance of Peru creamy, subtle, fruity and wonderfully easy to drink across all brewing methods.
